There are two United States Federal Agencies that have been heavily involved in the research and development of programs designed to help consumers enjoy a safer, healthier, more economical and comfortable indoor environment.  These agencies are the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) and the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA).
